Mohamed Seifeldein, Progressive Candidate for Virginia’s 8th Congressional District Running Against Millionaire Don Beyer, Earns Endorsement from Citizens Against AIPAC Corruption
Alexandria, VA. — Citizens Against AIPAC Corruption has officially endorsed Mo Seifeldein, a progressive candidate for Virginia’s 8th Congressional District running against multi-millionaire Don Beyer, who has represented the district for six consecutive terms. The endorsement recognizes Seifeldein’s principled stand against AIPAC’s unchecked spending and anti-democratic agenda.
“Mohamed’s refusal to bow to AIPAC’s millions, money that silences dissent, shields apartheid, and fuels endless war, shows real courage,” said Casey Kennedy, Co-Executive Director of Track AIPAC / Citizens Against AIPAC Corruption. “At a time when AIPAC’s spending and political influence dominate Washington, he is choosing integrity over access. That is leadership.”
Seifeldein recently called on Beyer to co-sponsor Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s resolution recognizing Israel’s genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza, stressing that “genocide is wrong, no matter who commits it” and that Virginians deserve a representative who will fight to end U.S. complicity in war crimes.
In accepting the endorsement, Seifeldein reaffirmed his pledge to build a campaign rooted in accountability and people-first values. “I am honored to receive this endorsement,” he said, “Our democracy cannot be for sale. We will not take money that undermines our communities or compromises the interests of the people we serve. Together, we can build a future where justice, human rights, and fairness guide our national priorities, not lobbyists or foreign policy donors.”
Citizens Against AIPAC Corruption noted that Seifeldein’s campaign represents a vital effort to advance human rights and ethical governance in U.S. foreign policy. The organization pledged to support his campaign as part of a broader effort to reclaim American democracy from entrenched special interests.

Mohamed Denounces President Trump’s Racist Attacks on Somali Americans
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MEDIA CONTACT: comms@moforcongress.com
DATE: December 10, 2025
Alexandria, VA — Mohamed Seifeldein, progressive candidate for Virginia’s 8th Congressional District and former Alexandria City Councilmember and attorney, issued a strong condemnation of President Donald J. Trump’s remarks targeting Somali Americans. Seifeldein, himself an immigrant from Sudan and longtime advocate for immigrant and refugee communities, called the President’s statements “racist, divisive, and unworthy of the office he holds.”
“President Trump’s words are not only racist—they are dangerous,” said Seifeldein. “By attacking Somali Americans, he is attacking all U.S. citizens and immigrants. He’s sending a message to the world that certain people are not welcome in the United States. This is reprehensible. I came to the United States from Sudan, Somalia’s bordering neighbor. Like my Somali neighbors, I have loved and served the United States for years. America’s strength lies in its diversity, and our communities deserve respect, dignity, and equal opportunity—not scapegoating and hate.”
Seifeldein emphasized that Somali Americans, like all immigrant communities, contribute immeasurably to the cultural, economic, and civic life of Virginia and the nation. He pledged to continue standing shoulder-to-shoulder with immigrant families, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are protected.
“We cannot allow racism to divide us,” Seifeldein continued. “As a candidate for Congress, I am committed to building coalitions that uplift every community, fight for justice, and reject the politics of fear and exclusion. The President’s attacks will not silence us, they will only strengthen our resolve.”
Seifeldein is calling on all elected officials across the political spectrum to denounce the President’s racist remarks and to affirm the values of inclusion, equality, and respect for all. VA’s 8th Congressional District is home to a large Somali American population. While others stay silent, Seifeldein will stand up for them and all communities under assault by this Administration.

Mo Calls on Don Beyer to Support House Genocide Resolution for Gaza
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mo Seifeldein, Progressive Candidate for VA-8, Calls on Don Beyer to Support House Genocide Resolution for Gaza
Alexandria, VA – Mo Seifeldein, progressive candidate for Virginia’s 8th Congressional District and
former Alexandria City Councilman, is calling on his opponent, Don Beyer, to co-sponsor a House
resolution introduced weeks ago, officially recognizing Israel’s genocide against the Palestinian people in
Gaza.
If passed, the resolution would formally recognize that war crimes are being committed in Gaza and call
on the United States to meet its binding obligations under the Genocide Convention. This includes
exercising U.S. leverage to help end the ongoing genocide by holding perpetrators accountable, and by
imposing targeted sanctions on Israel. The measure has been endorsed by major human-rights
organizations and has already attracted more than twenty Democratic co-sponsors. And yet, Don Beyer
has failed to sign on.
Despite a so-called ceasefire, human-rights organizations have documented how Israel’s actions in
Gaza—including blocking life-saving aid and maintenance of conditions calculated to physically destroy
the Palestinian people – remain genocidal in nature. Seifeldein believes this makes passage of Rep Tlaib’s
resolution even more urgent.
“Genocide is wrong, no matter who commits it,” said Seifeldein. ”Don Beyer must cosponsor Rep.
Tlaib’s resolution without further delay.”
U.S. funding to UNRWA, the main UN agency serving Palestinian refugees, has been suspended since
early 2024, deepening the humanitarian catastrophe on the ground. Seifeldein noted that the same
Congress that voted to block UNRWA funding has been far too slow to back binding and timely
accountability measures like Rep. Tlaib’s resolution.
“Virginians cannot afford a representative who is complacent when it comes to ending the genocide in
Gaza,” continued Seifeldein. “Virginia’s 8th congressional district is one of the most diverse
communities in the nation. It deserves a representative who will fight to end U.S. complicity in and
funding for a war that has claimed tens of thousands of lives—a third of whom were children. Collective
punishment against an entire generation of Palestinian people does not represent justice. Our district
should be a leading voice for defending international law and basic human decency.”
Seifeldein also drew a parallel between Beyer’s position on Gaza and his relative silence and inaction on
atrocities in Sudan, where years of mass killing, ethnic cleansing, and displacement have produced one of
the world’s largest humanitarian crises. “Whether it is Gaza or Sudan, our foreign policy should be
consistent: no blank checks for war crimes. Taxpayer dollars should be funding Medicare for All and
universal childcare rather than killing innocents abroad,” Seifeldein added.
“This district will no longer settle for perfunctory social media posts. It deserves a representative who is
willing to break with party leadership, stand up to lobbyists, and champion international law,” said
Seifeldein. “When elected, I will co-sponsor resolutions like H.Res.876, fight to restore UNRWA funding,
and use every tool we have to prevent genocide.”
