How to Apply

Apply Online
Use the Virginia Citizen Portal – you'll need your VA driver's license or state ID.

Apply by Mail or In Person
Download a paper application from the Virginia elections website and submit it to your local registrar's office.

Permanent Absentee List
Sign up to automatically receive a ballot for every election you're eligible for.

How to Return Your Ballot

Option 1 – By Mail
Postage is paid. Drop it in any USPS mailbox. Must be postmarked by August 4.

Option 2 – Drop Box
Drop off at your local registrar's office, a designated drop-box location during early voting hours, or at any polling place on Election Day (6am–7pm).

Option 3 – In Person
Deliver your ballot directly to your local registrar's office during business hours.
